Thomas Kinkade's Lion King is the seventh release in Thomas Kinkade's Disney Dreams Collection and was released in April 2011.
Disney's Lion King continues to be the highest grossing hand drawn animation movie of all time and is part of the Disney Renaissance. The story was actually influenced by stories of Moses and Joseph in the Bible along with "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare.
The Lion King by Thomas Kinkade is greatly anticipated to be another huge seller and once again should sell out immediately upon it's release. As usual, our galleries in Colorado will have the largest inventory of this painting over all the galleries but we still plan on selling out fast especially if you are looking for G/P P/P R/E, and S/P Editions. If you are interested in one of these editions, we recommend you call us asap and request us to hold one. Like the Disney paintings before this one, Thomas Kinkade's Lion King won't be around for long.
The Lion King feature film was released in June 1994 and is deemed a classic which is why Disney encouraged Thomas Kinkade to make the Lion King part of his Disney Dreams Collection.
About this Painting: Thomas Kinkade again captured the entire story of the Lion King in just one image. You will find Pride Rock in the wonderful Pride Lands along with all the characters from the film including Simba, the mandrill Rafiki, Mufasa, Sarabi, Scar, Nala, the hyenas, the hornbill Majordomo Zazu, wildebeests, Timron-the Meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog.
The Lion King by Thomas Kinkade is destined to be a classic like his other Disney paintings. Most of THomas Kinkade's Lion King editions have sold out however, we still currently have many
In Thomas Kinkade's words:
"As I painted my homage to this amazing story, I could not help but be moved by the intricate interplay between all of the magnificent creatures under Simba's domain. I imagined a lush, colorful, and bountiful African plain rightfully reestablished to its splendor after Simba vanquished Scar and his comedic, yet treacherous, hyenas each now forlorn in their punishment.
The multitudes of animals have been summoned to pay tribute to Simba's new baby and their future regent and they wait under a spectacular sky illuminated in great anticipation. The world is as it should be - in harmony and perfectly balanced. Simba's heir is exalted by Rafiki and proudly symbolizes what awaits when destiny is embraced, challenges faced, and one summons the courage to stand in the spotlight of providence.
I trust that this image will both remind you of this fantastic story and its amazing characters and, most importantly, move you to face the future irrespective of history, knowing that the watchful and approving eye of the King is content as you embrace your place in the circle of life." --Thomas Kinkade
