Product Description

Thomas Kinkade's Bambi's First Year is the fifth release out of the twelve part Disney Dreams Collection series and is now available to purchase from our galleries at Cherry Creek and Colorado Seasons or through this website.

Don't forget that Thomas Kinkade's Disney Dreams Collection series has been his fastest selling series ever in his 26 years as a published artist and as a result, has increased tremendously in value. Pinocchio sold out in 4 months, and Peter Pan and Cinderella sold out in just 72 hours. By sold out, we mean sold out from the publisher (Thomas Kinkade Company).

The trick is you want to purchase Kinkade's Disney Dreams Collection as soon as possible (before they go up in price). To give you an idea of the value of Thomas Kinkade's past Disney Dreams pieces we'll use size 18x27 Framed Standard Number (S/N) as an example:

Interesting facts about Thomas Kinkade's Bambi's First Year:

Bambi as an adult is featured on the cliff viewing the vision of his early life through the rainbow which is reflecting on his young age surrounded by his friends: Thumper the rabbit, Flower the skunk, Mole, Otter, his love Faine and her mother's face overlooking his life in the mountains. In addition, all four seasons of Bambi's life are featured. There are also 5 hidden letter N's as a tribute to his wife Nanette.

Here are some fun facts you should know about Walt Disney's feature film Bambi:

- The film received Three Academy Award Nominations
- It was the fifth film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics
Series, released in 1942
- Thumper's voice over was done by a 4 year old actor.
- MGM Films was originally going to make the story into a
serious movie before deciding it would be too difficult and
instead sold the rights to Walt Disney.
- Disney intended this story to be the second feature length
animated film but quickly put the film on hold after Walt
decided the original story was too grim and somber for
his Disney audience.
- Although Bambi received good reviews, the timing of the
release, during World War II, hurt the film's box office
numbers but later became a financial success when it was
re-released in 1947.
- Hunters at the time, spoke out against Bambi, saying it
was an insult to American sportsmen.
- Soon after Bambi's release, Walt Disney allowed the Bambi
characters to appear in fire prevention public service
campaigns for one year, after which the government needed
a new character, leading to the creation of Smoky Bear.
-Former Beatle, Paul McCartney has credited the shooting
death of one of the character's for his initial interest in
animal rights, an example of what has been called the "Bambi
Effect."
