Introducing Thomas Kinkade’s Masterpiece: NASCAR THUNDER! Nascar invited Thomas Kinkade to create a Masterpiece painting celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Nascar’s Daytona 500. Thomas Kinkade was invited to attend not only the race but all of the preliminary exercises and practice sessions at which time he carefully sketched what would eventually be his final Masterpiece of the “Great American Race.” Thomas Kinkade’s Nascar Thunder is officially licensed by Nascar and features the following:
• Richard Petty waiving the green flag for the start of the 50th Running of the Daytona 500®
• The 49 cars in their exact order at the start of the race featuring Jimmie Johnson and Michael Waltrip in the front with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Denny Hamlin right on their tales.
• A grandfather holding his grandson (representing the 50 year gap of the Daytona 500)
• Familiar faces in the crowd including Dale Earnhardt
• Flyover by the Thunderbirds
• Fireworks display
• Good Year Blimp
• Daytona 500 5oth Anniversary logo
• One of the winning cars from each decade of the race – as was featured at the race.
