Walt Disney said it all began with a mouse, and in the newest Disney movie classic you might say it all begins with a frog. The Princess and the Frog has been brought to life with hand-drawn animation techniques, making it the first Disney traditional animation classic in years as well as the first ever to be set in the enchanted city of New Orleans. The Princess and the Frog was the number one 2009 Christmas movie and has been given tremendous reviews by critics throughout the world. Many people don't know it but the main character, Tiana, is officially the sixth Disney Princess!

Thomas Kinkade's Princess and the Frog is the start of a new Disney Series entitled Disney Discovery series. WIth this series and Kinkade's most popular Disney Dreams series, one can deduce that Disney has appointed Thomas Kinkade as the official Disney artist.

The Princess and the Frog by Thomas Kinkade captures the entire Disney story in one image (just like the Disney Dreams collection). The Disney Discovery Series is dedicated to the new and upcoming Disney fans who did not grow up with the original classics like Bambi and Dumbo but rather, will grow up with the new Disney movies. Kinkade's Disney Discovery series will likely comprise of 6 to 8 paintings but the official number has not been set yet. Thomas Kinkade will likely release one Disney Discoveries painting every one to two years.

In order for a Disney movie to qualify for Thomas Kinkade's Disney Dreams series, it must be an original hand drawn animation blockbuster release with an original score.
