Thomas Kinkade’s “Gone With the Wind” is scheduled to be released in January 2012. Warner Brothers who owns the rights to this film first recruited Thomas Kinkade to paint the Wizard of Oz with full intentions of also having Thomas Kinkade paint Gone with the Wind. Since 2010, Thomas Kinkade has been planning and sketching different ideas for his Gone with the wind painting and he is still working on it.

Thomas Kinkade describes his Gone with the Wind painting best by stating:

” Romeo and Juliet. Anthony and Cleopatra. History is filled with couples bound together forever in the social mind because of their undeniable and storied relationships. As it was with these others…so it is with Rhett and Scarlett. Indeed, to me, there has been no greater romance ever chronicled than that of the dashing hero and strong-willed heroine of “GONE WITH THE WIND” Perhaps it is the tragic backdrop of the Civil War that serves to enhance the emotional impact of this storied love affair. The ultimate triumph of the human spirit, so well displayed in the film’s masterful conclusion kindles the romantic within me…as it can within you.
In my painting, Gone With The Wind, I wanted to capture this central romance but also give a small taste of the gentile old south. Fragrant flowers and lush rolling hills surround Tara, the homestead of the O’Hara family, and serve as quiet sentinels to this way of life. My painting is populated with favorite film characters and rendered in small cinematic vignettes designed to capture all of the drama and nostalgia of this Hollywood spectacular. I truly hope this painting delights all fans of GONE WITH THE WIND. Beyond this, I pray it reminds us all that true love does exist. ”

You’ll find Scrooge and Tiny Tim in his A Victorian Christmas Carol painting. This is how Thomas Kinkade describes it:

“My first painting in the Old Time Christmas Collection, “A Victorian Christmas Carol,” honors this joyous season. Period characters populate this quaint Victorian neighborhood, each enjoying the day with a merry chat, a peaceful stroll, a Yuletide carol, a stolen kiss under the mistletoe, a sleigh ride with Santa and, of course, a joyfull snowball fight is in the making! Look closely you might even find a few characters from stories of Christmas past. I hope that my painting, “A Victorian Christmas Carol” fills both your heart and your home with that same holiday cheer. And as only Tiny Time can say, “May God bless us, everyone!!”

The others include Snow White, Beauty & the Beast, Cinderella and Princess Tiana from Princess and the Frog (part of the Disney Discovery series). The Little Mermaid will be Thomas Kinkade’s sixth and final Princess painting rumored to be released in Spring 2012.

Thomas Kinkade Sleeping Beauty is a panoramic painting capturing all the characters and plots from the movie including King Stefan, Prince Phillip the 3 good fairies Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather along with the wicked witch named Maleficent. Thomas Kinkade captures the magnificent details of the story including the Woodland Cottage and of course the dragon of which Prince Phillip is battling with his sword. It’s no wonder Thomas Kinkade’s Sleeping Beauty will be his best selling Disney painting ever. Call 800-771-9501.

For the last 22 years, Thomas Kinkade has been the number one collected artist of all time. This is great news to collectors since the more popular an artist is, the more valuable their artwork will appreciate. However, due to the continual tremendous demand for Thomas Kinkade artwork, fraudulent sellers, many posing as authorized resellers or some even posing as authorized Thomas Kinkade galleries, have become rampant on the web. Today there are countless websites who pose as Thomas Kinkade sites when in fact, they are completely unauthorized and often time frauds. Countries like China and Thailand continually produce thousands of unauthorized Thomas Kinkade artwork which they sell and often advertise as authentic. As a result, Thomas Kinkade is the number one collected artist in Asia as well, however, neither Thom nor his company see any proceeds from those sales. Since the countries who often produce these fraud pieces have no copyright laws, there is little if anything Thomas Kinkade or his legal team can do about it except spread the word to collectors.

Today, printing technology has become so proficient that some companies in the U.S. are printing fraud works on canvas and posing it as authentic works. There’s even a very popular website (they often show up in the top 5 showings of google “Kinkade” searches) who feature a photograph of what they deem is their storefront when in fact, it is actually just a warehouse. One of these companies just recently had the audacity to post an advertisement to their website on Thom’s Facebook page. As a result of so much of this fraud, many collectors hoping to save a buck, end up getting duped entirely by these sellers and much of the time end up purchasing a worthless print. Our best defense is for Thom’s collectors to purchase their canvases from an authorized Thomas Kinkade Signature Gallery such as ours in Colorado or from a previous owner who they know they can trust. The easiest way to verify if a Thomas Kinkade Signature Gallery is authentic is to call the Thomas Kinkade Company at 800-366-3733 extension 3.

What is Thomas Kinkade doing about this? With all the continual fraud out there, Thom’s legal team stays very busy. However, they simply cannot keep up with the massive amounts of fake reproduction. Our best defense is to educate collectors so they do not support these con-artists who are essentially stealing from the Thomas Kinkade Company. Although we understand in today’s economy, collectors need to look for the best bargain, understand that you are putting your investment at great risk if you choose to purchase outside from an authorized Thomas Kinkade Signature Gallery and you really should ask yourself if it is worth it. We believe that if you are going to invest in essentially a family heirloom which you will probably pass on one day to your kids and eventually your kids’ kids, you really need to do it right and buy from an authorized Thomas Kinkade Signature Gallery.

Keep in mind, Thomas Kinkade artwork is rarely sold by authorized Kinkade galleries at a discounted price. True, sometimes the Thomas Kinkade Company will authorize a coupon (like the $100 off coupon our galleries are currently offering on this web site), but our galleries have to receive permission from Thom or his company to do this and we would get in substantial trouble if we violated these rules.

What about from a reseller? With all the Thomas Kinkade collectors, there are certainly many who legitimately own authentic Kinkade artwork and perhaps they are selling it. We have no problem with collectors doing this, even if they sell at a discount. In fact, because the reseller cannot offer the same perks a Thomas Kinkade gallery can offer, they typically should sell the painting at a discount. However, we caution buyers into taking the following steps before considering buying from a reseller:

Make sure you see a copy of the reseller’s actual receipt of the painting or get confirmation from the gallery who the collector says they purchased it from. Our galleries are happy to do this for our collectors and we can easily print out a duplicate receipt for our customers simply by looking up their name in our system. Most other galleries have this same technology.

Make sure you have the original Certificate of Authenticity (not a copy) and that it is legit. You can contact the Thomas Kinkade Company to help you verify it if necessary. You must be cautious once again of fraud pertaining to the Certificate of Authenticity. In fact, because of all the fraud, the Thomas Kinkade Company has just recently banned making replacement certificates of authenticity for previously sold canvases except in very rare occasions. Also, if the reseller claims that their painting had extra highlighting done by a Thomas Kinkade Master Highlighter (a $250 value), make sure there is a certificate of authenticity for the highlighting event as well which lists the name of the highlighter (both signed and printed) and the date it was highlighted.

Make sure the painting is in tip top shape. Chances are it’s what we call a “used” painting. In other words, it has hung on the seller’s wall for a long period of time, collecting sunshine, dust, pet hair, smoke, etc. Make sure it comes from a smoke free environment.

Check to make sure the painting has not faded. Best way to do this is to check for Thom’s signature on the front corner in black ink. Is it clearly visible or has it faded?

What condition is the frame in? Frames can be damaged so easily that you’ll often have to spend $200+ to replace it which often takes away from the great deal you thought you were getting on the painting.

Lastly, keep in mind that if you purchase from a reseller rather than from an authorized Thomas Kinkade Signature Gallery, you won’t get the perks you would if you purchased from the gallery itself. Some of the perks our Colorado galleries (and this website) offer which you won’t get from resellers include: getting your painting highlighted from an Authorized Thomas Kinkade highlighter, having Pat Kinkade sketch the back of the painting for you, having a lifetime warranty on your painting for any potential defects resulting in the manufacture of the painting, having a lifetime warranty on the canvas for any defects you may have caused even by negligence (there is typically a $500 deductible). Some authorized Thomas Kinkade Galleries such as our Colorado galleries, offer 6 month layaway, 12 month 0% financing, 100% return policy (this is offered by our galleries but rarely by others), and free frame exchange.

In summary, when deciding who to purchase from, please consider the following factors discussed in this article before making your decision. You are welcome to call us toll free at 800-771-9501 to help answer any questions you might have. Good luck and we hope our Colorado galleries and/or website have the privilege to serve you.

In October 2010, the Thomas Kinkade Company and our Signature Galleries were surprised to learn that the galleries in Monterey and Carmel, California had closed, especially since these were some of the oldest and most successful galleries for years. Unfortunately, there was no prior warning given to the Thomas Kinkade Company, our Signature Galleries or most important, the customers who the Monterey/Carmel galleries had serviced. Unfortunately we can only speculate as to the details surrounding why these galleries had closed. However, many customers of these galleries were left wondering who was going to service them, especially if they wanted to continue collecting their same painting numbers for the Thomas Kinkade Disney Dream Series.

If you are one of these customers or simply want to find a new gallery to service you, the Thomas Kinkade Company and our Colorado Signature Galleries want to help you. We encourage you to call us at 1-800-771-9501 where you can talk directly to an art consultant. Our Thomas Kinkade Signature Galleries of Colorado provide the best overall gallery customer service you will find (see below) and we guarantee there is nobody else out there who provides ALL of these services.

-	We will work on getting you back your Disney continuity painting/certificate number so you can continue to collect the same painting/certificate number you collected before and there is NO surcharge for this. It is our understanding that some customers were charged $150 per painting to enroll in this continuity program and our galleries find this ludicrous and never charge an extra fee for this service.
-	We will work on giving you credit for any deposits made for paintings of which you did not receive (gallery or credit card receipt is required) from any closed galleries.
-	You will not have to pay any sales tax. If applicable, we will pay it for you.
-	Shipping only costs $10 per painting, even if we ship overseas! We service anywhere Fed Ex services and we pay to insure our packages as well.
-	We provide Free Frame Exchange
-	We offer a low price guarantee and we usually beat any competitors pricing
-	We provide 100% money back satisfaction with no buyer’s remorse. Even after shipping the painting to you, if within 72 hours of receiving it, for any reason you change your mind, we are happy to give you a full refund or exchange and you will not be charged for any shipping or restocking fees.
-	We sell Thomas Kinkade originals directly provided by Thomas or Patrick Kinkade without having to go through a third party which saves you money on the price.
-	You may have your painting highlighted by the Master Highlighter for FREE. Our galleries coincidentally use the same Master Highlighter who serviced Monterey and Carmel (you do not have to be present).
-	We annually sponsor two Patrick Kinkade sketching/Heritage tours in which you can have your painting sketched on the back and highlighted by Patrick Kinkade at no charge. (click on our “Special Events/News” icon on the upper left corner of your screen for more information on these events).
-	Any paintings produced after 2004 have a lifetime warranty provided at no charge.
-	We give free written appraisals on Thomas Kinkade artwork to our customers.
-	We will send you a Thomas Kinkade catalog of all of his images ($45 value) for free with the purchase of any limited edition canvas.
-	For a limited time, you can receive $100 off your limited edition canvas purchase.
-	Our galleries have an “A” Rating from the Better Business Bureau, have never had a complaint filed against us and Thomas and Patrick Kinkade both give us endorsements which you can watch via video on our website.
-	We have one of the largest inventories of paintings available in stock.
-	We strongly support our military, police, fire, and school officials and provide a discount as our way of thanking them for their service.
-	The owner of the Thomas Kinkade Signature Galleries of Colorado, John McIntire, is happy to talk and work with collectors.
-	Our staff come from tremendous customer service backgrounds and love people. Plus they are extremely well trained and knowledgeable about Thomas Kinkade art.

If this isn’t enough to satisfy you, then please tell us how else we can earn your business. Call us today at 1-800-771-9501

This article reviews the various styles and prices of Thomas Kinkade original artwork available for purchase. Our galleries are one of a few who sell Kinkade originals and due to our relationship with the Kinkade family, we typically sell Thomas Kinkade original art at 50% to 75% off the price of other sellers. Sales are typically approved and arranged by Thomas Kinkade and his brother Patrick Kinkade. Since Thomas Kinkade is the number one collected artist of all time EVER, his original paintings are obviously in high demand and are considered extremely valuable. Also keep in mind that some of Thom’s originals are not available for a number of reasons: they either were sold, donated, or personally kept by Thom or his family. This blog is divided into different sections based on paragraphs. Scroll to the paragraph which interests you. They are sorted by price point (least expensive to most expensive) as follows:

*Thomas Kinkade original sketches
*Thomas Kinkade original oil paintings on paper
*Thomas Kinkade original non-published oil paintings on canvas (Plein Air style)
*Thomas Kinkade original non-published oil paintings on canvas (Traditional style)
*Thomas Kinkade original oil paintings PUBLISHED
*Myths and rumors and about Thom’s original artwork

THOMAS KINKADE ORIGINAL SKETCHES: Thomas Kinkade will typically start off a new painting by first sketching what it is he plans to paint, using a charcoal (black colored) sketching pencil. These sketches will often entail ideas he pulls out from his mind or an actual location he sees which he thinks might make a good future painting. As a result, Thomas Kinkade will often create several sketches for just one painting. Because these sketches are one of a kind originals, they typically fetch a high price, especially if it pertains to a painting which was published and sold very well. For example, a Thomas Kinkade sketch used to help him develop one of his Disney paintings would have a starting price of about $10,000. If it is a Thomas Kinkade sketch which he simply did in general capturing his ideas at that moment, this sketch would fetch anywhere from $2000 to $5000 depending on the detail and size of the sketch. If the sketch has color in it (very rare), it will typically be priced about 35% more than a black penciled sketch. Our galleries are often supplied with original Thomas Kinkade sketches which we sell way below the valued price, usually between $500 to $1500.

THOMAS KINKADE ORIGINAL PAINTINGS ON PAPER: Thom did a lot of experimenting with paints in his lifetime. In some cases it was more convenient for Thomas Kinkade to paint on paper rather than canvas. Although this is very rare, there are still some Thomas Kinkade original oil works on paper. The price is significantly more than sketches since actual oils were used. Depending on the size, the price is typically $15,000 to $25,000. Our galleries currently have in stock a series of 8 rustic mountain originals on paper: sizes 8″x6″ which we have on special for $3000 each or multiples sales at $2500 each.

THOMAS KINKADE ORIGINAL PLEIN AIR PAINTINGS (non-published): A Thomas Kinkade original painting which has not been published or released is going to be much more less in price than a published painting. Also, a plein air style is typically painted by Thomas Kinkade in just one day and usually comprises of a landscape scene. Again, depending on the size, an original non-published plein air painting typically runs from $20,000 to $40,000 in price. Our galleries currently have original 8″x 10″ non-published plein air paintings for sale at $5000 each.

TRADITIONAL STYLE THOMAS KINKADE ORIGINAL PAINTINGS ON CANVAS (non-published): Again, there will be a substantial price difference if you acquire a Thomas Kinkade original which has not been published or released to the public. Thomas Kinkade’s traditional styles which is the typical style of painting he is known for (i.e. cabins, cottages, lighthouses, cityscapes, etc), start at about $35,000 and go up to about $95,000 in price depending on the size. Our galleries have sold 8″x10″ sizes starting at $10,000.

PUBLISHED THOMAS KINKADE ORIGINAL OIL PAINTINGS ON CANVAS (released to the public). Much of the price point here lies with the popularity of the painting. For example, Thomas Kinkade’s original Disneyland 50th Anniversary painting was appraised at $2 million but that is because it is Disney. Another factor is the size. If you wanted an original Thomas Kinkade published painting in a small size such as 12×18 or 16×20, you’re looking at a starting price of about $60,000. A 18×27 original published size would start at about $70,000 for a plein air style and about $110,000 for a traditional style. A 24×36 or similar size original will typically have a starting price of around $180,000. Prices will go up dramatically depending on it’s popularity.

MYTHS AND RUMORS: I’ve heard customers tell me that galleries have informed them that Thomas Kinkade originals typically sell for over $1 million. That’s a bit of an exaggeration. True, that Thom does have originals priced well over $1 million like his original Disney paintings. However, that is greatly because these paintings were published and they sold out super quick due to the huge demand. Thom has also donated original works of art to charity auctions in which a live auction will take place to a very high end, upscale crowd (the Donald Trump types) who will bid like there is no tomorrow resulting in bids of over $1 million in which the proceeds benefit charity. But for the most part, as long as Thom is alive, his originals are actually deemed very affordable and great investments.

Learn more about the Lion King by Thomas Kinkade expected to be released in March/April 2011. The Lion King will be Thomas Kinkade’s seventh Disney Dreams release around March/April 2011. Thom is just putting the finishing touches on this painting and an image will not be available until its release.

Thomas Kinkade’s Lion King is the seventh release in Thomas Kinkade’s Disney Dreams Collection and should be available in April 2011. Disney’s Lion King continues to be the highest grossing hand drawn animation movie of all time and is part of the Disney Renaissance. The story was actually influenced by stories of Moses and Joseph in the Bible along with “Hamlet” by William Shakespeare.

The Lion King by Thomas Kinkade is greatly anticipated to be another huge seller and once again should sell out immediately upon it’s release. As usual, our galleries in Colorado will have the largest inventory of this painting over all the galleries but we still plan on selling out fast especially if you are looking for G/P P/P R/E, and S/P Editions. If you are interested in one of these editions, we recommend you call us asap at 800-771-9501 and request us to hold one. Like the Disney paintings before this one, Thomas Kinkade’s Lion King won’t be around for long. Click the link at the bottom of this blog to see pricing information.

The Lion King feature film was released in June 1994 and is deemed a classic which is why Disney encouraged Thomas Kinkade to make the Lion King part of his Disney Dreams Collection.

About this Painting: Thomas Kinkade again captured the entire story of the Lion King in just one image. You will find Pride Rock in the wonderful Pride Lands along with all the characters from the film including Simba, the mandrill Rafiki, Mufasa, Sarabi, Scar, Nala, the hyenas, the hornbill Majordomo Zazu, wildebeests, Timron-the Meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog.

The Lion King by Thomas Kinkade is destined to be a classic like his other Disney paintings. Be sure to order yours now before they sell out.
